Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the issues of professional realization at the career beginning and the volunteering’s opportunities to support this process.Differenet definitions of volunteering worldwide are presented and key volunteering characteristics are drawn. Presented are also the difference between volunteering and internships programs within the focus of formation of skills for professional development. The volunteering advantages in case of career change or return to the labour market are outlined.
