Summary/Abstract: This article intents to make a synthesis of the rich activity as bishop that Nicolas Joseph Camilli has unfolded in the Diocese of Iaşi during the two periods of ministry. The first part presents the context in which the Diocese of Iaşi was founded, the mode in which the first bishop of this Diocese has understood to meet his mission of pastor, but especially the fundamental contribution that he had to the founding of the „ Saint Joseph" Diocesian Seminary of Iaşi. A last point of the first part consists of the presentation of the reasons for which the first bishop of Iaşi left Moldavia in the year 1894. The second part of the study consists of a panoramic view of the main activities as bishop accomplished by Monsegnior Nicolas Joseph Camilli in the Diocese of Iaşi, since his return on the seat of bishop (1904) until the moment of his death which occured in the capital of Moldavia, on the 30th of December 1915: the restructuring of the 28 parishes of the young diocese in 4 deanships; the cannonical visits; the organisation of the archives of the parish; the establishment of the norms to be respected by the cantors of the dioceses etc.
