Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the essence of social work as a science whose core is assisting the process, defined as its subject and object. Argues its interdisciplinary character and analyzed three theoretical approaches to social work, psychological guidance; sociology-oriented and complex-oriented. Examine prekariatat as a new subject area of social work. Defines the essence of the precarious; reasons for its dynamics; precariat types; characteristics of the precariat: discontent, anomie, anxiety and alienation.
