Summary/Abstract: Trust is a significant factor for relationship development in a professional context, especially when it comes to the helping process in working with socially vulnerable people and groups like social work. This paper presents and discusses the opinions and the judgements of 3rd year students majoring in Social Work program in Bulgarian context about the importance and domains of trust in professional communication between a client and a social worker. The basic operational model of trust is the model of McKnight, Cummings & Chervany 1998, implemented in social and behavioral research, which has been specified and additionally developed by Mizova and Tcvetanska (2019) for analysis of trust in professional areas with intensive communication between people like education, social work, consultation, and management. The model includes four key dimensions of trust - benevolence, integrity, predictability, and competence. Those four dimensions and their significance in the work of helping professions are evaluated through the views of future social workers.
