For example, gender relations and in particular the place of women in the modern world, religion and its use as a means of control and subordination, as well as the problem of the destructive dimensions of power. Emphasis is also placed on Atwood's other anti-utopian novels, which moot similar topics. Such are “Oryx and Crake”, “The Year of the Flood”, “MaddAddam” and “The Heart Goes Last”.
