Summary/Abstract: This article aims to analyze verbal somatic idioms generated by lexemes such as ‘pie’ and ‘pierna’ in Spanish, respec- tively ‘picior’ in Romanian. The contrastive analysis that we will carry out is aimed at selecting those relevant and profitable phraseological units for the elaboration of a corpus whose beneficiaries will be Romanian students learning Spanish as a Foreign Language (levels B1-B2). We focus on at the type of equivalences, the argument structure, the communicative function and other points of intersection. The results obtained will give us more precise keys for the elaboration of didactic materials that promote the acquisition of phraseological competence. In order to elaborate the corpus we consulted several phraseological repertoires, monolingual and bilingual dictionaries (both electronic and print versions).
