Summary/Abstract: By referring to complex and multi-component relationships governing the communication situation, Monika Grzelka updates the existing knowledge on the subject in relation to the new context of remote learning, which has undergone rapid dissemination. The complex tools provided by the linguistic pragmatics are helpful in describing a new educational event that makes necessary the presentation of two key frames of reference: a real situation in which each participant in the meeting is immersed and a virtual context common to all the participants. Grzelka argues that both these dimensions determine each other (and create a hybrid situation). She also points out that the conditions of remote learning make necessary the verification and updating of the mechanisms of influence used during a face-to-face communication event (e.g. taking the floor, maintaining eye contact, signalling emotions).
