Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the contemporary role of works by Adam Mickiewicz based on a music record titled Mickiewicz – Stasiuk – Haydamaky released in 2017. The author describes the concept originating from the Ukrainian band “Haydamaky”, which – together with Andrzej Stasiuk, a Polish writer – made an interesting musical interpretation of Mickiewicz’s works (The Crimean Sonnets, The Phantom, Ordon’s Redoubt and an excerpt of Konrad Wallenrod). Attention is also paid to the recent Ukrainian translations of Mickiewicz’s works, which were prepared by Jurij Andruchowycz and Serhiej Żadan. The author also analyses the translation of the sonnet Ackerman Steppe into Ukrainian. The author proves that reaching for the 19th century works of Mickiewicz represents a successful attempt at showing the versatility and multi-faceted character of his works. The paper concludes that the combination of Mickiewicz – Stasiuk – Haydamaky is intriguing from the literary-musical perspective, worth getting to know and valuable for shaping Polish-Ukrainian relations.
