Summary/Abstract: The professional use of scientific information requires limiting the areas of research and organizing scientific knowledge. That leads to specialization in knowledge. The researcher gradually becomes a specialist in a certain field of knowledge, becomes a „bystander“ in other areas of research and does not claim to have extensive knowledge. The growing specialization helps define the subject areas in science, leads to differentiation of sciences, each of which seeks to isolate its subject of study, reflecting specific fragment or aspect of reality, and does not claim comprehensive research and obtaining a generalized picture of the world. In the existence of each branch of scientific knowledge, sooner or later, some periods allow the infusion of new forces, tools and methods in scientific research, contributing to the development of science and its movement forward. But the change from one stage of the development of science to another is not always clearly observed. It is in this way is formed the relatively young science Theory of the criminal intelligence process. This article will briefly review the process of differentiation and clarification of its subject and system.
