Summary/Abstract: Taking into account the importance for the Court of Justice in the European Union's institutional system, especially the fact that by the entry into force of the Treaty of Lisbon there has been a reform in the functioning of the European Union as a whole, this study attempts to highlight the changes introduced in the judicial system of the Union by the Treaty of Lisbon. Thus, by identifying new issues it aims at shaping a true picture of the activity of the core institutions of the European Union, whose mission is to ensure „compliance with law in the interpretation and application” of the Treaties on which the European Union is based.
