Summary/Abstract: In fact, the rapid spread of the Corona outbreak in China in the last months of the year after a period of economic stagnation that began to occur in the last quarter of 2019, especially in developing countries, caused major economic shocks. As the Corona epidemic increased in a short time and became a pandemic affecting all countries in the world in 2020, the rapid reflection of the economic shock seen in the developed economies to developing countries was more striking than the previous economic crises. Due to the fact that it is a health crisis that threatens human life with the economic problems created by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has demonstrated the need to compare the effects of today's crisis with the effects of World War II. Since the onset of globalization, the COVID-19 crisis has had greater than expected effects in different areas such as foreign trade, international transportation, foreign direct investments, unemployment, stock market, change in the value of the national currency, economic growth. According to the results of the analyses made with the data released by the official institutions and the countries' own official institutions, whose reliability is generally accepted, it is explained that the COVID-19 crisis is becoming more widespread in more countries than in other crisis periods in the world. In fact, there are claims that much larger declines are expected due to the loss of people caused by the epidemic than the crisis in the Second World War. In this study, which questions the effects of the global economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is aimed to make comparisons with the effects of the Second World War crisis.
