PRIMUM NON NOCERE: THE CONTRIBUTION OF DR. DIMITAR PANTELEEV FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF BIBLIOTHERAPY IN BULGARIA

Summary/Abstract: Dr. Dimitar Lozanov Panteleev made an exceptional contribution to the introduction and acceptance of bibliotherapy in Bulgaria. A number of new forms of work introduced in practice expanding the horizons of Bulgarian science resulted from his many years of experience as a psychiatrist. He was engaged in the study of psychopathology in the literary activity of the mentally ill and created a methodology of literary psychogram as a psychological diagnostic test and a kind pf entertaining therapy. This report aims to present the contribution of Dr. Dimitar Panteleev to the application of bibliotherapeutic methods in programs for therapy and socialization of depressed patients.
