Summary/Abstract: The paper presents results of a comparative analytical study of Slovakia and Norway in the field of research and development at national and regional NUTS II level. Data necessary for analysis were used from Eurostat database. This paper is partial result of the international project NIL-II-013-d “Development of Cooperation in the Scope of Research of Innovation Processes Impact on Regional Development in the Slovak Republic and Norway”. This project is supported by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. This project is also co-financed from the state budget of the Slovak Republic.
