Summary/Abstract: The Lex Rhodia de iactu was in fact a law of the customs of Rhodes and had the aim to favor the shipyards of Rhodes. The law granted a temporarily duty exemption to the ships arriving in the island after a strong storm. The text which was recently found on a column in the port of Rhodes is for sure not an ancient one and can be attributed to the recent Italian colonial occupation of the island.
