The Archaeological Activity of Count Teleki Domokos

Summary/Abstract: Founder of the Teleki collection from Gornesti, which had almost 2000 pieces from the Stone age up to the 19th century, count Teleki Domokos was also a passionate archaeologist. Although he did not have special studies, he took part in the archaeological researches in Maramures, Salaj and Mures counties, from which he gathered a great number of artifacts partly donated later to the Transylvanian Museum in 1918, and partly kept in good conditions in his private collection.
