Summary/Abstract: The present paper deals with the general background in which a digital deposit is constituted in modern libraries, it exposes theoretical, practical and technical aspects regarding the constitution of digital patrimonial collections. This type of collections was created on the purpose of preserving and protecting the national cultural patrimony existing in the national system of libraries, as well as on the purpose of promoting and extending the access to information.
