Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the relationship between positive law and justice. Furthermore, it analyses ways in which it is possible to react to unjust law in a democratic legal state. The paper explains the concept of civil disobedience and demonstrates its effectiveness as well as the way in which it operates on number of examples from the life of Mahatma Gandhi, as it is portrayed in the fi lm Gandhi (1982).
