Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the most important novelty in Czech Criminal Law, adopted under the amendment to the Criminal Code. Related to this legislation a new kind of punishment: Sentence of House Arrest. The article points to the potential application of this punishment in the past through tales by the Brothers Grimm – Goldilocks. While trying to compare the current legislation, a sentence of house arrest with the legislation sentence of house arrest in the past. The article also tries to point out the potential benefits of this sentence and also the problematic aspects associated.
