Remnants of Heathen Ritual Practices in Bulgarian Calendar Rites

Summary/Abstract: In the course of annual work of terrain and more deep investigation of the Bulgarian calendar ritualism and more concrete occupations with ancient culture, special acquaintances in large part of the ritual actions and exercises in the heathen and Christian calendar ritualism make afterimage. It was this the cause of the option to the theme, without to profess a breadth, will give examples for analogical ritual practices and will tray to give one expected solution on issue on reason and the point on the presence of these analogies. General elements of the heathen and contemporary Bulgarian ritual practices can be open on each level from festive system, but more concrete and clear cases bring all ritual actions that fulfill themselves on holidays, dedicated to the ground, the richness, the prayer for rain etc. One more deep investigation in the family ritualism and the head ritualistic actions, associated as well picture known familiarity between the ancient beliefs and custom and the contemporary ritual practices with vital cycle. It is the goal to the report to show some traditional Bulgarian rites – No as isolated phenomenon, as part of one bigger ritualistic system with millenary tradition.
