Romanian Public Library: Some Aspects Concerning the Socio-Cultural Expectancies and Perception

Summary/Abstract: The problem of expectancy is closely connected to the specific services the public library offers to its readers. According to its status and its readers perception, library must ensure the necessary information, thus to answer to their requests. But how could a public library do this nowadays, when the editorial activity is so eventful? There are some rules that must be attended: the information efficiency, its degree of addressability and objectivism, value and verosimilitude etc. Library must take into consideration the readers requests and be very selective when purchasing new documents. The way a public library is responding to its readers needs is all-important for the managerial politics of each library.
