Summary/Abstract: The social phenomenon that takes place in nowadays Europe is the result of political changes and tendencies. Within UE, there are some concepts, such as education and its importance, the archetype of the European citizen, that cannot be separated in the official documents of the Union. If we consider the invisible walls, that separate the diferent national cultures, we may notice that every educational programme has some socioaffective features. School and library represent the official frame of education; library is the ideal place for intercultural and multiethnical education, having as a main goal the understanding, acceptance and the assuming of human diversity. Library is the perfect place for affirming, manifesting and presenting the various cultures. It is the place that allows a different kind of communication.
