Summary/Abstract: Gheorghe Şincai represents a permanent source of interest, not only because of his works, but also because of his entire activity, both as a teacher and as a forerunner of Romanian schools. His works are still studied today from different perspectives, because it is considered that Şincai continues to amaze us. Lucian Blaga studied Şincai from the perspective of historiographic essay; besides of his theological education, Şincai proved himself to be a very critical spirit; he did never hesitate to criticize the church, especially the Catholic one. Blaga also refers to Şincai’ contribution in Supplex editation, in 1791, and to his critical dialogue with its oponents. On the other hand, David Prodan refered to Şincai – the man and his life. He insisted on particular aspects of Şincai’ s life and considered that Şincai had lived a difficult life because of his temperament, because of his passion for truth; a life like his could easilly lead to great achievements or to terrible disappointments. Prodan also emphasize Şincai superior education, his capacity of work and his determination to change something in his people’ s life.
