Summary/Abstract: From the very beginning of his didactic career, Şincai was guided by the ideea of making something în order to improve Romanian educational system from Transylvania. First as a teacher at Blaj, then as a general manager of Romanian schools from Transylvania, he did his best in increasing the number of schools - he founded over 300 - and in a better professional preparation of teachers. Thus, he personally organised special courses for teachers and only after graduating they received the right of teaching children. Şincai was also interested in books, school manuals and he tried to pass this terrible lack by writing some of the first Romanian courses, not only for teachers, but also for students. Among them, we may mention: Gramatica latino-română, A.B.C. sau Alphavit pentru folosul şi procopsala şcoalelor normalesci a neamului românesc, Catehismul cel mare, cu întrebări şi răspunsuri, alcătuit şi întocmit pentru folosul şi procopsala tuturor şcoalelor normăleşti a neamului românesc, Îndreptare către aritmetică, întâia parte, alcătuită şi întocmită pentru folosul şi procopsala tuturor şcoalelor normăleşti a neamului românesc. Everything he did was for the benefit of his people, because he considered that man can evoluate through science and education.
