Pedagogical and psychological education of university teachers in Sarajevo

Summary/Abstract: This paper points up the current bad practice in terms of pedagogical and psychological education of university teachers and staff, as well as the shortcomings of legislation and regulations that define the minimum requirements for the selection of academic staff in a higher education institution or requirements related to acquisition of a minimum pedagogical competences of teachers and staff at the University of Sarajevo. In this sense, this paper represents a call to defend the dignity of the teaching profession as well as a contribution to future discussions and amendments to the Law on higher education, particularly in those areas related to the pedagogical and psychological training of university teachers.
