Specifics of Individual and Community Diagnosis Relating to Elderly People

Summary/Abstract: The systematic increase in the proportion of elderly people in our society requires the state to create conditions for a decent life of seniors. In the case of elderly people, in addition to biological age, their current life situation is affected by many objective and subjective; as well as biological and socio-cultural elements, the condition of which should be recognized when designing support activities. The foundation for effective and high quality support provided to the elderly is conducting an appropriate diagnosis, taking into account their individual life situation and the potential and institutional capacity of the social environment. The article discusses the basic principles of diagnosing areas related to the social functioning of elderly people and their individual situation.
