International entrepreneurship in Poland

Summary/Abstract: International Entrepreneurship (IE) is a relatively new academic field which was created at the beginning of the 1990s. IE clearly overlaps with Entrepreneurship, International Business, International Marketing and Strategic Management. Small and medium-sized enterprises starting international activities from or near their founding are the object of interest of IE. Some research indicates that the companies of this kind have already appeared in Poland in the 1990s, however, Polish researchers started taking interest in them only for the past few years which results in a limited number of studies and publications on the topic. This is some weak point of Polish science because the field of international entrepreneurship gets a lot of interest in the world. On the other hand a lot of young Polish researchers may specialise in this field and the experienced researchers may add a lot to this field.
