Musical Preferences of Contemporary Youth

Summary/Abstract: Music plays an important role in the life of a young person, not only because of the number of functions it performs, but also because of the importance it plays in the process of maturing an individual. The results of the research presented in the article show what kind of music contemporary youth listens most often, how much time a day they spend listening to it, in what conditions and places it is done, and what is the attitude of youth to extracurricular music activities. The respondents were divided according to the type of school they attend. In both public and institutional schools, the musical preferences of modern youth are similar, which results from the presented analysis of the collected research material and its percentage distribution.
