Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present a proposal for the use of the social support model known as the “spiral of kindness” in the design of activities supporting people with intellectual disabilities. The article consists of an introduction, four main parts with subtitles and a summary. The first part highlights the theoretical approach to the notion of social support according to Stanisław Kawula. The second part discusses theoretical assumptions of the “spiral of kindness” created by the same author. The next part analyzes the current trends in the approach to providing support to people with intellectual disabilities. In the fourth part, the author proposes to use the “spiral” as a tool for creating the environment supportive of people with intellectual disabilities. Apart from the interpretation of the theoretical framework of the discussed social support model, an attempt has been made to graphically present the space of the “spiral of kindness” and the support process which takes place in it. In the summary part, the author points to the topicality of the idea of the “spiral” in specifying the approach to supporting people with intellectual disabilities.
