Summary/Abstract: The study aims at revealing the ways through which women from Wallahia, Moldavia and Transylvania faced and prepared the death according to the religious prescriptions preached by the clergy. The present assumptions are based on a detailed analysis of the testaments written by both men and women from the three Pricipalities during the Middle Ages and the XVIIth century. We also analysed some of the funeral writings of the XVIIth century which taught the Christians how to live and die.
