Summary/Abstract: Patriciu Barbu is one of the greatest Romanian intelectuals from Reghin. Born in 1842, he has studied at Alba Iulia, then at Blaj and Sibiu, and became a clerk at the Court of Justice. His activity has developed in different directions, such as culture, as member and president of ASTRA, policy, as member of the Romanian National Party and finances, as founder of the first Romanian national institution of crediting in Transylvania
