Summary/Abstract: After the Second World War, one of the significant problems in Polish-Belgian relations was the problem of compensation for Belgian property, rights and interests, affected by Polish nationalisation and other property rights regulations. The Belgian authorities raised these issues since the 1940s. They have had a significant impact on Polish-Belgian negotiations on financial and economic matters. The failure to address the indemnification problems made it difficult for the Polish side to locate investment orders in Belgium and obtain loans for this purpose. An appropriate agreement between the governments of the Polish People’s Republic, Belgium, and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg was signed on 14 November 1963, and entered into force in November 1966.
