Summary/Abstract: The paper contains an analysis of views on the idea of “West Russianism” of the well-known Belarusian historian, Valeriy Cherepitsa. The issue of the origins of the idea itself and the life and work of its creator, Mikhail Koyalovich, were of significant importance in Valeriy Cherepitsa’s views. In the context of “West Russianism” Cherepitsa investigated also other problems connected with the history of Belarus, being not indifferent, however, to the process of reconstruction of the “West Russianism” ideology into “Western Neo- Russianism”.
