The City of Buzau during the Communist Regime. First Test for Realizing a Systematization Plan

Summary/Abstract: In 1948, the authorities of the Buzau city decided to carry out a plan to systematize the city. A contract was signed with a collective of architects, led by Paul-Emil Miclescu, the former chief architect of the C.F.R. They tried to carry out this systematization plan, but without success, because they did not have the topographical plans of the Buzău. In this situation, the local authorities have entered into a contract with other specialists for the topographical lifting of the city. Finally, the collective of architects, led by Miclescu, carried out a pre-project of the systematization plan, in which they proposed the remodelling of the central area of the city.
