Summary/Abstract: Our research is based on life-course interviews with Romanian and Hungarian actors. Using the methodology of oral history, we have examined how their individual and professional careers developed during the mentioned period, what social and integration backgrounds actors of the era had, what characteristics they experienced in the theatrical world, how dictatorship affected their lives and how the austerity measures of this period could have been avoided.
