Summary/Abstract: After 20 years of war, the Taliban announced that they were the winners by capturing Kabul. There are significant factors that helped the Taliban to be a hegemon in Afghanistan, such as lack of an influential Afghan army, the economic cost of the war, continuing financial support to the Taliban, the mistakes made by the USA during the war, corruption, and ethnic diversity of Afghanistan government, change in the war and ethnic politics of Taliban, establish illegal governments by cheating in the elections, support of global and regional states to Taliban against ISIS, appeasement policy of the USA towards Taliban and Taliban’s commitment to distancing with al-Qaeda. If international society recognizes the Taliban and continues to give foreign aid to Afghanistan, there would be relative peace and stability in the country.
