Summary/Abstract: In this paper, we proceeded to examine the crime of forgery of credit titles or payment instruments in the light of the provisions of the law in force. We took into account the legal and material object, the subjects of the crime as well as the constitutive content, presenting also the analysis of the text recently introduced in the content of the crime, a text that considers the falsification of non-cash payment instruments. The tradition of criminalizing such deeds since the adoption of the Criminal Code of 1864 has allowed us a summary analysis of this crime in terms of the legislation of the time, continuing with the provisions of the Criminal Code Charles II. The paper is part of a criminal law course to be published later. Due to the way of writing, the topicality of the text and the examination made, the paper can be useful to the university environment and in judicial practice.
