The Cartulary from the set of documents of the collegiate church in Kurzelów kept at the Kielce Diocese Archives

Summary/Abstract: The collection of Kielce Diocese Archives contains the set of documents of the former collegiate church in Kurzelów which includes the Cartulary of documents from the years of 1436 up to 1781, a valuable finding in terms of information on the collegiate church and the town. The analysis of the contents of the set, which is in the form of entry-including regesta, enables the undertaking of a reconstruction of relations between the Church and the Town significant in the Old Polish era, as well as the discovery of the so far unknown factsconcerning history of Kurzelów and local clergy. This representative example of a previously-unresearched archive source material concerning the area of the former Gniezno Archdiocese justifies the demand to undertake further archive research and analysis of preserved documents of the church chanceries located outside the centres of the dioceses management in the Old Polish era.
