Special economic zones as stimuli to regional development during a crisis

Summary/Abstract: This article draws special attention to the effects of the operation of special economic zones located within Poland in the period from 2008, that is the year considered as the beginning of the global financial and economic crisis. It has been also assumed that it is important to verify the thesis about the effectiveness of special economic zones as the tools of social and economic development, especially in the context of decreasing unemployment.
