Summary/Abstract: Television or radio broadcasters no longer use the new media platform just as a secondary supplement but by means of the new media they also create a full-fledged communication channel. They can thus make broadcasting more attractive, promote new programs or create a technological alternative to standard television and radio broadcasting. The new media has been gradually integrated into the structures of the Slovak public service broadcaster, Radio and Television of Slovakia (RTVS), which uses it to make their media content more attractive for wider groups of recipients. The study deals with the development and specifics of new media in the environment of the public service broadcaster. The aim of the study is to summarize a brief historical overview of the gradual introduction of new media into the management and development concepts of RTVS.
