Summary/Abstract: The present article represents a continuation of our previous work, in which we have focused on building a reader-oriented approach to interpreting fiction, which has perspective at its centre. Our research has encompassed several linguistic approaches: narratological (communicative), semantic (Deictic Shift Theory, Situation Theory, Possible Worlds Semantics) and non-communicative ones. After having previously defined what subjective and objective sentences are, we have started analysing such occurences in Fay Weldon’s (1989[1983]) novel “The Life and Love of a She-Devil”. Here we continue our interpretation of SPEAKER-subjective sentences by focusing on some ways in which the speaker’s indexical perspective is represented, which may also include inferential viewpoints.
