Summary/Abstract: The present paper focuses on a significant dimension of kitsch phenomenon, the sentimentality. Generally regarded as rooted in the Romantic project centered on the restauration of emotions, sentimentality is firmly removed from the modern aesthetic paradigm. Scholars (Matei Călinescu, Robert Solomon, Hermann Broch) explain that some of the negative connotations on kitsch are clearly a result of a critical and depreacitive perspective on sentimentality.
