Summary/Abstract: The main objective of the present study is to establish the dynamic risk factors at the emotional level, factors that may contribute to the appearance and the maintenance of an increased risk for committing sexual offences: social and emotional loneliness and isolation, anger and empathy. As potential precursors for violent offences in general, we identified significantly higher levels of social and emotional loneliness and of social isolation. The highest level of anger as state and as trait is found for sexual offenders (it is possible for anger to be directed both towards one’s self and others). Violent offenders in general tend to exhibit a significantly lower level of general empathy, comparing to non-offenders.
