Summary/Abstract: The impact of the coronavirus pandemic on reality has caused tensions that were reflected in mass protests, which in turn gave rise to artistic activity. One form of expressing rebellion was the spontaneous creation of protest songs, and this genre in 2020 became one of the most important testimonies of its time. The article presents numerous examples of songs created in 2020 as protest songs against the background of political events at the time. It also describes the most important characteristics that can be presented based on the analysis of these works. These songs were created to express dissent – this is how they were perceived by listeners – and many of them served as support for street protests. The ambition of these works was above all to react to reality, to express anger, to describe an important historical moment, and as such, they fulfill their role perfectly, and their number testifies to their importance for social life.
