Summary/Abstract: The Evolution of the Universitary Sociological Education. At the University from Cluj, the sociological training had come into being in different periods: in the period between 1922 – 1948 in a sincronising style with the European sociology. In the period between 1948 and 1965 the totalitarian reform, sociology was eliminated from the educational system, priority being given to the dialectical materialism and the historical materialism of proletcultist origin. In the period between 1965 and 1989, sociology was reintroduced by courses of methodology of sociological research, sociological theories, the sociology of culture at the Department of Philosophy from the Faculty of History and Philosophy. In the period that has come after 1990, sociology is reborn and sociological training is reintroduced at a different Department with an autonomous profile. This event has led to the formation of the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work in 2001.
