Summary/Abstract: Verbal aggression is a common phenomenon in social behavior that children mostly learn in their environment. It matters a lot what kind of patterns they see around them. The aim of our research was to examine a specific aspect of school aggression, the presence of verbal aggression in teachers’ communication, what causes it and how often does it occur. In our research, we worked with an online questionnaire completed by 153 adults who answered questions about their school experiences that revealed verbal aggression. The results support our hypothesis that verbal aggression appears in teachers’ communication. According to the respondents, the main reason for this is that teachers are not familiar with other educational and disciplinary methods. The responses also highlight that verbal aggression towards pupils is based on criticizing their performance.
