Summary/Abstract: The present paper proposes for analysis the places for identity retreat, those healing universes where a person finds sanctuary, away from all lifes hardship, fears and darkness. The main purpose of this paper is to highlight the fact that there is no organic connection between a place and a person, but an overidentity that allows both actors to eternally communicate. Thus space becomes a persons identity trademark. Taking into account that an ample research is a must regarding privileged spaces from the confession of the imaginary of exiled writers like Emil Cioran, Eugen Ionescu and Mircea Eliade, this paper proves itself to be an inventory of topos like the attic, the library and even the book itself. These spaces are perceived as universal panacea for a persons hosting between the frontiers of these places. Thanks to their ability to create their own retreat, spaces similar to those from which they were taken away, the writers have made from the power of creation a fiddlestick and managed to play their own misfortune like playing a violin. Because of their extraordinary ability to communicate the great thinkers of this generation managed to transcend all space, time and cultural borders reaching the minds and hearts of all Romanians. Furthermore the cioranian, ionescian or eliadesc confession of the imaginary show these spaces as shielding places, spaces for retreat, solitude and even destiny. These places become favorable topos for writing and lecture.
