Summary/Abstract: This paper will examine one case of building an introductory Korean culture course syllabus, at the outset focusing mainly on philosophical and religious concepts. By examining this case and looking at the success of the course like this in its initial stages, further suggestions will be made for its improvement and conclusions provided as to whether shifting the major focus on religion and philosophy would be worthwhile in a course of this kind.
