Summary/Abstract: Due to the small amount of useable sources, research of the history of the court in the early modern era in the context of the Principality of Transylvania as an independent state and of the annexed territories (the so-called Partium) is almost exclusively confined to the princely court. Based on the list of persons who served in the court of would-be Prince of Transylvania, János Kemény, in 1654, the paper describes the composition, structure and hierarchy of his court, in comparison with similar establishments in the Kingdom of Hungary.
