Summary/Abstract: In the middle of the 14th century, the Ligurian colonies at the mouth of the Danube, Chilia and Licostomo established themselves in the Genoese trade. Among the goods traded in the Genoese centers in the area were a number of transport vessels. The Genoese documents at our disposal record the sale-purchase of parts of vessels or whole vessels, as well as their use as guarantees in various commercial affairs. The Genoese deeds drafted between mid-August 1360 and mid-May 1361, record nine sale-purchase contracts of vessels or parts of vessels and 78 contracts guaranteed with vessels or parts of vessels. Two documents record the fictitious sale-purchase of a vessel.
