Summary/Abstract: This paper examines how the representatives of the Bulgarian and Polish linguocultural community understand hospitality. Focusing on the linguistic picture of the world in both languages (which entails a lingo-anthropological analysis of Bulgarian and Polish phrases, idioms, words, and sayings) we discover some similarities between the Bulgarian and the Polish worldview, linked to the theme of ‘hospitality’. The study also contains a comparative analysis of Bulgarian/Polish and English expressions. The analysis is used to outline some unique features in the fragment of the Bulgarian/Polish linguistic picture of the world we are looking at.
